Welcome! I'm Andrew Nguyen, Head Instructor at Jung Do Taekwondo
With over 20 years of martial arts experience—beginning my journey at just 8 years old—I'm proud to lead students of all ages at Jung Do Taekwondo Academy.
Our mission is to develop strong, respectful, and confident individuals through the core values of Taekwondo:

Teamwork
At Jung Do, we don't just teach martial arts—we strive to instill life-changing values that students carry with them in and out of the dojang. Our training helps students build respect for themselves and for others, laying the foundation for success in school, at home, and in the community.

Master Gheath Alatrash
I have practiced Tae Kwon Do ever since I was a teenager and have continuously done it for the past 30 years. Tae Kwon Do has given me confidence in my life, even beyond its self-defense aspects. The focus, discipline and hard work it teaches can be applied to life in general. The sport emphasizes flexibility, endurance and body control. It’s an amazing sport that provides basic athletic skills, which can be used as a foundation for several non-martial art sports. I have passed my passion for Tae Kwon Do to my three children. Doing Tae Kwon Do together with them is one of my favorite memories of their childhood. I have been to several Tae Kwon Do schools over my lifetime, and Jung Do Tae Kwon Do Academy is an exceptional Tae Kwon Do school. Andrew Nguyen and the instructors focus on making Tae Kwon Do fun and enjoyable for individuals of all ages, while maintaining the authenticity and the originality of this sport.

Head Instructor Vidhu Weerasinghe
I started practicing Taekwondo when I was six years old and became a student at Jung Do when I was eleven. From early on, I realized that the values we learn in class—discipline, respect, humility, and focus—don’t just help you become a better martial artist. They help you become a better person. When I first started, I looked up to my instructors and dreamed of doing the same flying and spinning kicks they made look so easy. I thought I’d pick them up in a couple of weeks—but I quickly learned that real progress takes time and serious effort. It was through their encouragement and my own persistence (and plenty of trial and error) that I eventually landed those moves. That experience taught me how rewarding it feels to truly earn something. Taekwondo has helped me in more ways than I expected. When I started taking tennis lessons in 2021, my coaches were surprised by how quickly I picked up advanced movement and footwork. I knew that was because of the years I spent training at Jung Do. That connection made me even more grateful for what this school gave me, and it’s what inspired me to come back and pay it forward. Now, as Head Instructor, I’m proud to pass on the same foundations of fitness, focus, and character that shaped me. My goal is to help every student who walks through our doors grow stronger, more confident, and more disciplined—on the mat and in everyday life.

I first started my journey with Jung Do Taekwondo back in 2010, and returning in 2024 - over a decade later - reminded me just how powerful this art really is. Taekwondo has a way of meeting you where you are, then guiding you to grow in strength, discipline, and self-belief. What makes this school truly special is the supportive community and the dedication to excellence that uplifts everyone who walks through the door. It's never too late to return to what inspires you.

Hi, Im Daniel. I’ve been doing Taekwondo here at Jung Do for 6 years, and mixed martial arts for 9 years. I consider Taekwondo to be a core martial art, one where you learn the fundamentals of fighting, self-defense, and general athleticisim. During my time here, I’ve picked up skills and met friends that I never would have met otherwise. As a black belt, I can confidently say that my skills as a fighter wouldn’t be where they are today if it weren’t for my training here at Jung Do.

As a student of Jung do Taekwondo I was taught discipline as my primary focus. I have instilled this into my mind, body, and every aspects of life.
As an instructor, patience is key and my commitment in passing along the skills, techniques, and morals I've learned makes me feel accomplished. I take pride in seeing the students progression.
